First day of Ramadan in Rotterdam

I was quite lucky to have Ramadan starting on Sunday specially on this weekend which I decided to spend it relaxing. well, the day started quite late for me, after spending the night enjoying shisha and a movie night with my house mates, so I waked up by mid-day, finding everybody in the house standing in the kitchen along with outsiders (my housemates' friends) and felt like everybody cooking when all of them once in a sudden were starring at me. Vinc asked me, shall we eat? it was quite nice of him, but then I explained to everybody to just act normally and forget about me, but was quite motivated when was talking to Yanni about the point of fasting Ramadan and he wanted to try doing it :)
I pretty much haven't felt something different on the first day, specially that last Ramadan for me was a Dutch version as well, but it's definitely so different than the Cairo version, as on the first day is normally the big family day, where everybody gathers at one of my aunts' houses and have fitar (breaking fast) together.
At the end of the day, I decided to start cooking half an hour before Maghreb (sunset) to have ready food on time, but of course in my house, such thing will never work. Catching chats with Yanni and cooking with 3 people in the kitchen isn't the best of my talents, which leaded me having a late fitar, but after then we went out together along with other friend for drinks........was a nice ending for the first day.
