Oops...

The day started with a 12:30 meeting with a local company. I got there, and was half way through the meeting when I realized why I hadn't been offered the customary cup of tea yet - it's the first day of Ramadan.
On the way back, I noticed some things that are a staple of this month. Every roadside will have stalls with dates for sale, a long prayer mat for shopkeepers and pedestrians to pray on if there's no mosque nearby, marketing banners for all the new "deals" the restaurants are offering during the next 30 days.
Back on campus, things are strangely quiet. A lot of people coming to and from the mosque, no one screaming/shouting, and no food in sight, every shop closed, the cafeteria included. However, in a few hours, this will be the exact opposite, with around 1000 people standing at the cafeteria's doors waiting for them to start serving Iftar. The entire night will see people sitting in the same cafeteria, studying/having early Sehri, or just hanging out since it won't close it's doors till after Sehri is finished.
Aah...it's started :) 29 days to Eid...
